Follow @ Instagram 👉 / merecipesaaataste *********************************************************************************** #nivol #palade #postnatalfood #postnatalcare Nivol, Palade, Paladya | Nivol Mangalorean Post Natal Recipe | How to make Nivol Palade | Palada | Postnatal Care | Ajwain Curry | ಬಾಂಳ್ತಿಚೊ ನಿವೊಳ್ | Best remedy for cold |Paladya, Nivol, postpartum care ***************************************************************************************************** INGREDIENTS: For the Masala 1 tsp ghee 1 ½ tsp Ajwain seeds (carom ) 2 tbsp. coriander seeds 1 tsp cumin seeds ½ tsp mustard seeds ½ tsp fenugreek seeds ½ tsp pepper corns ½ tsp fennel seeds ¼ tsp turmeric powder 2 red chili 6-7 dry slices of sour fruit (vonti sol) marble size tamarind one small onion 5-6 garlic cloves 5 tbsp. /½ cup coconut Cooking : ½ sliced onion (Optional) salt to taste Tempering : 1½ tbsp Ghee ½ thinly sliced onion A few curry leaves METHOD: Heat 1 tsp ghee and dry roast spices & all ingredients for the masala until aromatic. Set aside to cool completely. Grind the roasted spices /ingredients along with dry slices of sour fruit, tamarind & turmeric powder to a fine paste. Pour the ground masala into a cooking vessel and add salt, half-sliced onion (optional), and mix well. Bring the curry to a boil. Adjust consistency to medium thick. Add hot (boiled) water if necessary. Tempering: Heat the ghee in a pan and add thinly sliced onions. Fry until they turn golden brown. Add a few curry leaves and fry for a few seconds. Pour tempering over the gravy and mix well. Nivol is specially given to new moms after 15 days of delivery to avoid cough & cold. ***********************************************************************************************
