Hi Everyone - This is a Long video but in two parts - The first half of the video shows my Beginners how to make buttery sweet pastry. It's absolutely wonderful. I wanted to show you that although, we can't all be chef's - we still can make good food at home!! The second half of the video, shows you how to make Frangipane, this is an old wartime recipe belonging to my grandparents (it's so good and has stood the test of time). I used the following equipment tools for this tutorial, if you click the links below you will be directed to the item of interest, on the Amazon site : Set of 6 Mini Tart Cases (4 inch) : https://amzn.to/3dzZzty Food Processor : https://amzn.to/3qLHgFG Pink Wheat/Straw Bowls (unbreakable) : https://amzn.to/2ZC5Z3f 40cm Rolling Pin : https://amzn.to/3pFLL3o Ceramic Baking Beans : https://amzn.to/3qBuAkF Hand Held Mixer : https://amzn.to/3qTPqvX Cooling Rack : https://amzn.to/2Nvz5Pj NB: This recipe makes easily 6 - 8 (4 inch mini tart cases or 1 large 9 inch pie/tart tin) Equipment used: Set of 6 fluted mini quiche/tart pans/tins : Sweet Shortcrust Pastry: 280g Plain Flour 30g Ground Almonds (optional) 165g Butter 65g Caster Sugar (or granulated or icing sugar) 1 Whole Egg 1 Egg Yolk Blind bake pastry in pre-heated oven for 15 mins on 180c or 160c if fan assisted / 350f / Gas Mark 4. Remove from oven and remove baking beans/rice ..... then reduce heat of oven to 165c or 145c if fan assisted / 300f / Gas Mark 2 and place the tarts back in the oven for a further 5-6 minutes. Then remove and allow to cool. Frangipane Filling 130g Ground Almonds 70g Ground Rice (optional) but I'm using an old English recipe of my grandparents. 110g Butter or Margarine 110g Caster Sugar (or granulated) #cherrybakewell #bakewelltart #classicbritishrecipe 2 Eggs 2 teaspoons of Almond Extract You can top with flaked almonds on the top for decoration and also crunch Plus Raspberry Jam for the base of your pastry tart. Place the tart (with added frangipane) in pre-heated oven 180c or 160c if fan assisted / 350f / Gas Mark 4 for around 25 minutes or until a light golden colour.
