Colorado redesigned a behavioral health complaint form and is ready to share what they found in follow-up testing one year after implementation. This project aimed to ensure that people who have concerns about their behavioral health care are treated with compassion, feel safe to share their story, and understand what to expect. The session will explore how a cross-functional team leveraged trauma-informed, human-centered design efforts to optimize the form's content, visual design, and data model, creating a more accessible complaint submission process. They’ll discuss usability testing with Colorado’s priority populations and how moving from Google Forms to Qualtrics removed barriers for both the public and staff.
