Featuring the Hartwell Railroad, Pickens, and Greenville & Western "short line" RR's all in one day! The Hartwell Railroad is well known for its unique locomotive roster, which features several 1970s-era engines in original paint schemes (Chicago & North Western, Conrail, EJ&E, and Rio Grande, to name a few). The Hartwell runs between Elberton and Toccoa, GA with a branch line to Hartwell splitting off at Bowersville. AFter filming the Hartwell in the morning, we headed east to Belton, SC around noon to film the Pickens Railroad interchanging with the Greenville & Western RR. Pickens entered the yard, dropped their train, and split the engines. They took engine 5970 (ex-Conrail B40-8) back to Anderson while 9502 (ex-SCL U18B) went to switch a few industries on the Docheno line that runs to Honea Path. At Docheno, PICK 9502 passes its "sister" CSX 9501 sitting on cinderblocks and still wearing its original CSX MOW orange paint scheme. Also in the storage tracks are JRWX 132 (ALCO S2) and JRWX 94 (ALCO RS1). After switching, 9502 ran back to Belton and handed off two more boxcars to the Greenville & Western. After a brake test, GRLW 4304 (GP30) and GRLW 3751 (GP9) take their 20 car train to Pelzer, SC for interchange with CSX. Please comment any questions you have in the comments section, and enjoy this trio of unique railroads in Georgia and South Carolina. Filmed on May 12th, 2020. Thanks for watching! ©ICE6365
