Hidden in plain view. PRR rock cut in Schuylkill Haven PA.

Hello everyone. In this video we take a walk through a rock cut in Schuylkill Haven PA. This was once the route of the PRR Schuylkill division. Built around 1885, the PRR wanted both a direct route to the Schuylkill County coal fields as well as a chance to steal some of the Reading railroads passenger traffic. Service was first established from Philadelphia to Reading and later to Pottsville. The line continued north till it reached a junction with the Lehigh Valley Railroad in the New Boston PA area. This is a location, that both myself and my friend Todd have driven past more times than I can remember. This is right on Main Street in Schuylkill Haven PA.
