For many people, tap water is the main source of fluid intake - whether drunk directly, as a base for tea or coffee, or for cooking. But there are always concerns: Does it contain pollutants, drug residues, or microplastics? Can old pipes pose a danger? Or is tap water perhaps even healthier than mineral water? ⏩ Get informed first, then supplement: Feel free to take a look at my guide https://bit.ly/RatgeberHowTo ✅ ❎ 100% independent ❎ 100% study-based ❎ 100% medically correct 00:00 | Mineral water vs tap water 01:49 | Is tap water healthy? 02:38 | Quality of tap water in Germany 06:29 | Ingredients in tap water 07:55 | Comparison with mineral water 11:16 | Risks and possible pollutants 14:10 | Does filtering make sense? 16:58 | What do people who say tap water is unhealthy recommend? 18:06 | Drinking habits and tips #tapwater #mineralwater #medicine #health The quality of tap water in Germany Germany is one of the countries with the highest drinking water quality in the world. The German Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV) is one of the strictest in the world and sets clear limits for pollutants, bacteria and other undesirable substances. Water suppliers are legally obliged to check drinking water regularly - large waterworks even carry out daily analyses. The samples are examined by independent laboratories and in the event of contamination, the health authority must be informed immediately. Thanks to these strict regulations, we can drink our tap water in Germany without hesitation. What is in tap water? It is often claimed that tap water contains fewer minerals than mineral water. In fact, our drinking water contains important minerals such as calcium, magnesium and sodium as well as trace elements such as zinc or potassium - depending on the regional water hardness. In areas with hard water, the mineral content is particularly high, while soft water tends to contain fewer minerals. Some people believe that mineral water is the better choice. However, the composition of mineral water is not necessarily more beneficial - and it is often subject to less strict controls than tap water. Is mineral water really healthier? Many people choose mineral water because they think it is healthier. But from a scientific point of view, there is no clear advantage over tap water. Rather, the health benefits of mineral water are often exaggerated through clever marketing. While mineral water comes directly from a spring and can hardly be altered by law, tap water is treated in waterworks to ensure the highest level of purity.
