Acting on specific intelligence inputs about suspicious activities near Adarsh Nagar Metro Station, the police launched a targeted early-morning drive. The information suggested that certain individuals were involved in unlawful activities and were residing in India without valid travel or identity documents. To verify the input, the police conducted an undercover sting operation. Male officers approached the suspects and offered money for illegal activities. Once the suspects agreed, female police personnel, who were already strategically positioned, moved in and detained all three individuals on the spot. The detained persons have been identified as Rozina @ Chameli (32), daughter of Ali Hussain, resident of Shariatpur district, Dhaka, Bangladesh; Laila Khanam (20), daughter of Mohammad Robul Islam Rubel, resident of Narail district, Khulna, Bangladesh; and Marufa Khatun (27), wife of Maruf Molla, resident of Narail district, Khulna, Bangladesh. During initial questioning, they claimed to be Indian citizens, but their inconsistent responses raised suspicion. Upon detailed verification, police recovered three smartphones installed with the banned IMO application. Additionally, ten Bangladeshi national identity documents were found stored in the mobile phone gallery. After document verification and digital analysis, it was established that all three were Bangladeshi nationals residing illegally in India without valid passports or visas. Legal proceedings were initiated under relevant provisions, and the detained individuals were produced before the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). The deportation process has been formally initiated as per established procedures. Delhi Police stated that strict action against illegal immigration will continue in the national capital.
