This is possible because it is a suspension bridge. In a suspension bridge, the road deck hangs from huge cables. The main cables run from one side of the canyon to the other. Before opening, engineers tested the bridge with 96 heavy trucks, totaling 3,360 tons. The results showed the bridge is safe and stable. The bridge opened in 2025.
