A session for staff and PGRs to explore the emotional side to research visibility. Speaker Bios Ruth Winden, Careers with Research Consultant: In her role as Careers with Research Consultant at the University of Leeds, Ruth brings more than three decades at the forefront of innovation in the careers industry, an international perspective, and unwavering enthusiasm for all things careers. Ruth loves nothing more than engaging with her researcher community to help them fulfil their career aspirations. Often, LinkedIn plays a major role in their success by attracting and maximising opportunities through their outstanding profiles, enhancing their visibility and building thriving networks. Ruth is one of only 50 certified social media career strategists globally. She is a Fellow of the Career Development Institute, an Associate of the US based think tank Career Thought Leaders, and part of the award-winning 'Research Culture Uncovered' podcast production team here at Leeds. Taryn Bell, Research Development Advisor: Taryn works in the University’s Organisational Development and Professional Learning team. She develops and delivers programmes to support the career development of researchers, with a focus on funding and fellowships. She runs the University's BOOST Career Development and Fellowship Accelerator programmes. Heledd Jarosz-Griffiths, Research Development Advisor: Heledd is a Research Development Advisor in the University’s Organisational Development and Professional Learning team. She leads on personal and professional development support for postgraduate researchers (PGRs) as well as contributing to the design and delivery of research leadership at all levels. She supports PGR development in areas such as research culture, preparing for your viva, supervisor relationships and research integrity. Additional areas of focus for Heledd are career development, PGR mentoring programmes and UKCGE award support for postdoctoral researchers.
