Hello 😊 Here’s my transcription of the Guess Who song “Undun”. This song comes from their 1969 album Canned Wheat. The bass player on this track was Jim Kale. You can find the transcription on Muzento under the Intermediate Songs category. I’ve always liked the Guess Who and I really admire Burton Cummings as a musician, so I was more than happy to fulfill this request for one of my long time and very generous supporters. Thank you, Paul 😊 I enjoyed learning a bit of the back story behind this song. Burton Cummings learned the flute solo after realizing that the saxophone, which he already played, had the same fingering as the flute. Randy Bachman was inspired to write this song from chords he learned from his neighbor, Lenny Breau. I can picture Randy being inspired by listening to and watching Lenny play and running back to his room to try it all out. Inspiration is a wonderful thing. I think it's probably the biggest compliment a person can give. Inspiration can last a lifetime, and it's contagious. I hope we can all inspire someone in our own little way 😊 I was surprised at how short some of the notes were, and I had to fight my natural instinct to play them a little longer. I tried to notate some of the key spots, but I may have missed one or two here and there. I liked how he doubled up the notes in the flute solo section. He didn't put too much attack on the notes, but the double time feel really pushes that section through and adds some excitement. Keep your touch on the lighter side and really stay on top of the beat. It almost feels like there is a push and pull happening between the drums and bass, but they manage to meet in the middle and create a really nice feel.
