You can check to see if a ray intersects with each of the primitive shapes! This is pretty useful when it comes to tasks such as figuring out if a bullet or a laser shot from a gun is going to hit something, or (as in this example) checking if the mouse cursor is hovering over any particular object. 3D collisions in native GML are one of the more commonly requested tutorial subjects I get. This is a big subject and will require a long time to cover properly, but they can be done - no external DLLs required!
