The last video from the summer 2022 holiday in the Lake-district.....here we visit Scale-force the highest waterfall in the lake district with a total drop of 170ft. Starting at Buttermere walk towards Buttermere lake taking a sharp right turn through a gate immediately before the main Buttermere route towards Scale-bridge, after crossing the bridge head right towards Crummock-water along a well defined stoney path(sometimes wet after rainfall) The path is level and easy going, here you can see many dragon-fly species and birdlife, Crummock water soon comes into view, a turn-off appears after around 1mile heading slightly uphill this is easy to miss, shortly a bridge will come into view that crosses a stream stay ahead on that path gaining slight height until you reach a gate through a broken down wall which gives access to scale beck, follow the path uphill staying on the right of the stream through bracken. There are a couple of steep uneven bits here but just keep going uphill until you reach another gate, go through the gate now going downhill to a bridge across the stream the waterfall comes into view after 200yds................you can return the same way or stay on the other side of the stream heading back towards Buttermere. Total distance is around 5 miles with good views of Crummock-water and the surrounding fells. We did encounter a grass snake(slithered off before I could get a photo)..........Thanks for watching the series, its appreciated, we had 7 days of glorious weather with no rain.....👌👍😎
