Anyone who's filmed in a workshop knows the struggle, so I present to you my over-engineered solution to becoming a Hollywood Machinist! The new camera crane 9000 borrows from the inspiration of other makers but makes some nifty revisions, improvements & simplifications. It's both lightweight & strong enough to support a video DSLR setup of a light, microphone & battery pack while still staying perfectly positioned wherever you want it to via a combination of friction-tuned washers & tension springs. The concrete filled base is heavy enough to stop the crane tipping over, while also being simplistic & allowing for a sleeker footprint when floor-space is at a premium. The built in castor wheels also make it a dream for scooting into position and the long-reach arm helps position the crane far enough away, while letting the camera in on the action. I'm really stoked for this & I've already used the crane to help film its own build where it's already proven indispensable. 0:00 Crazy Intro 1:00 The Main Body 2:00 Main Pivot 2:36 Bushings 3:25 Camera Arm 7:12 Camera Mount 9:17 The Base 10:31 Reverse Weight Reduction 11:13 In Use 12:29 Secret Outtro
