Queso fresco translates to “fresh cheese,” and it’s such a staple in so many Latino households. Growing up, queso fresco, warm tortillas, beans, avocado, and salsa made the simplest but most comforting meal. I never thought I’d make it myself because it sounded intimidating… but this recipe only requires TWO main ingredients! If I can do it, you can definitely do it too. ✨ Ingredients: ½ gallon whole milk ½ cup + 1 tablespoon white vinegar 1 teaspoon salt 🛠 Tools You’ll Need: Large pot Strainer Cheesecloth (or clean 100% cotton kitchen towel) Large bowl You can enjoy it warm right away or refrigerate for about an hour to firm it up. You can also customize it by adding garlic, pepper, or even jalapeños — but I love mine simple with just a little salt.
