Dr. Lesmana is an Associate Professor and Senior Consultant in the Department of Internal Medicine, Hepatobiliary Division, Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital, Universitas Indonesia. He also serves as a Senior Consultant and Interventional Endoscopist at the Digestive Disease & GI Oncology Centre (DDOC), Medistra Hospital, and the Gastrointestinal Cancer Centre (GCC), MRCCC Siloam Hospital, Jakarta. Recognized as a pioneer of Endo-Hepatology in Indonesia and across Asia, Dr. Lesmana has introduced innovative techniques such as EUS-guided portal pressure gradient (PPG) measurement using a standard manometer. His groundbreaking research has been presented at major international meetings, including Digestive Disease Week (DDW) and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Scientific Forum. Dr. Lesmana has delivered live demonstrations and lectures worldwide, including ENDOCON (India), ILCC (ILBS, New Delhi), BUILD (Mumbai), and APASL (Kyoto). He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), American College of Gastroenterology (FACG), and the Indonesian Association of Internal Medicine (FINASIM), and an active member of ASGE, AASLD, and the Asian EUS Group (AEG) Education Subcommittee. He has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed international journals. The current state-of-the-art lecture was presented at the INEDSYS hepatology club on Nov 1, 2025.
