This repair was performed on a 2010 Scion tC (First Generation) and applies to: 2005–2010 Scion tC Parts & Specifications Part Type: LED 3rd Brake Light Assembly (The LEDs are integrated, so the entire unit is typically replaced if it fails). Pro Tip: Be gentle when pulling the interior hatch panels. Use a plastic trim tool if available to avoid scratching the plastics or deforming the metal clips. Warning: Disconnect the wiring harness before unscrewing the assembly to prevent any short circuits, and ensure the hatch is supported so it doesn't close on you while working.
