Canggu, Bali. Tuesday, 18 November 2025. A day before Galungan, one of the most important Balinese celebrations, the weather in Canggu was partly cloudy and bright. We started our walk from the parking area in front of Love Anchor, then continued along Batu Bolong Beach Road all the way down to the beach. When we arrived at Batu Bolong Beach, many tourists were already enjoying the sunset, relaxing, surfing, and taking photos. We continued our walk along the shoreline, passing Munduk Catu Beach, Batu Mejan Beach, and finally Echo Beach. La Brisa looked as lively as always. It really feels like one of the icons of Canggu, with many visitors stopping to take pictures around the area. Near the entrance of Batu Mejan Beach, we saw a group of Balinese children performing a traditional six-monthly ritual called Barong Bangkung. They play music and dance with a pig-shaped puppet, moving from place to place while accepting small donations (punia). If you see them during your visit, there’s no need to be afraid—they never force anyone. Feel free to give any amount from the heart. This is not part of their daily activity; it is a Balinese cultural tradition performed only during a special 10-day period.
