Join me for this seated yoga stretch for the upper body. We are slowing it down today and practicing a few poses targeting the upper body. Find a comfortable supported seat and let’s get started with this seated yoga stretch. We will begin with some gentle shoulder circles and some movement to warm up the shoulders and the upper back. We will then bring some attention to the neck and then down to the hands. We will then open up through the chest and the side body and a bit more before we add in our Cactus Arms and a Front Bound Hand Stretch. We will relax it down with our gentle modified twist and finish our seated yoga stretch how we began with some gentle shoulder mobility. Remember to always go at your own pace. Focus on the breath first, and then the movements. I create my chair yoga sequences and exercises while keeping in mind common mobility restrictions. I eliminate any spinal flexion in the seated position as well as full rotation of the spine in the poses. Be sure to always do what is right for you.
