They were active for just three years. ONE STEP communicate was a trio of men who released five singles and three albums on Pioneer LDC between April 1994 and their disbandment three years later. From their final album released in 1996, “Break New Ground,” I covered “Kureyuku Machi (Twilight City)” on bass. I consider them a hidden gem of an artist, worthy of being featured on Disk Union's site “City Pop You Won't Hear on the Streets | Disk Union Staff Teach You Irreplaceable Music.” Their melody lines and vocal quality are pure city pop, while their playing and recording are quintessential 90s J-POP. He seems like an artist who took the best parts, and this song in particular strongly feels the influence of UK acid jazz. I think there was a song with a backing track similar to Incognito, and I was really drawn to the groovy performance, which was just as good as the real thing. The bassist for this track is not confirmed, but the group's bassist is Takeshi Kudo.
