At Embedded World 2025 in Nuremberg, Würth Elektronik showcased their latest advancements in electronic components and systems. A focal point of their exhibition was the Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) technology integrated with Power over Data Lines (PoDL), enabling simultaneous data and power transmission over a single twisted pair of wires. This innovation simplifies cabling infrastructure, reduces material costs, and supports efficient data communication in space-constrained applications. The SPE demonstration featured a setup where data and power were transmitted over standard copper wires using a compact transformer design. This approach eliminates the need for traditional four-wire Ethernet systems, offering a more streamlined solution. The system supports data rates compliant with 10BASE-T1 and 100BASE-T1 standards, ensuring reliable performance for industrial applications. In the realm of passive components, Würth Elektronik introduced the WE-MXGI series of storage inductors. These inductors are designed with flat copper wire, achieving low direct current resistance (DCR) in a compact package. This design enhances efficiency in switching regulator applications, addressing the industry's demand for miniaturization without compromising performance. The company also highlighted its advancements in signal transformers with the WE-STST series. These transformers provide electrical isolation in SPE applications, complying with IEC 62368-1 standards. Measuring just 4.5 x 3.2 mm, they offer a compact solution for maintaining signal integrity and reducing electromagnetic interference in high-speed data communication systems. In collaboration with IQD, a subsidiary specializing in frequency control products, Würth Elektronik presented high-precision quartz crystals and oscillators. These components are essential for applications requiring accurate timing, such as synchronization in data transmission and processing systems. The exhibition included raw quartz crystals and their evolution into packaged oscillators, demonstrating the manufacturing process and precision engineering involved. The booth also featured electromechanical components, including a variety of connectors and switches. These components cater to diverse design requirements, offering solutions for high-frequency connections, power delivery, and user interfaces. The emphasis was on customization and adaptability to meet specific application needs, underscoring the company's commitment to providing comprehensive solutions for electronic system design. Würth Elektronik's participation at Embedded World 2025 underscored their dedication to innovation in electronic components and systems. By addressing the evolving needs of modern electronic applications, they continue to support engineers and designers in developing efficient, reliable, and compact solutions for a wide range of industries.
