As the sun slips across my table and the wind grazes the thin white hairs at the nape of my neck, I find myself in a tender place—standing between the years ahead and the years behind. This is the space of the Crone years… The years of remembering, reclaiming, and releasing. The years of knowing who I am, and who I came here to be. My name is Jennifer Leora Lola, and I came here for a reason. Born into a world of both chaos and abundance, I was given a heart, hands, and spirit meant to ignite something in others—meant to remind people that they, too, can live more fully. We each carry a light. Some shine it boldly; some dim it; some hide it entirely. My choice, breath after breath, has been to let mine shine. And in doing so, I’ve learned a profound truth: When we shine, we give others permission to shine too. For years I felt I should have done more—pushed harder, given more, pulled more people toward their own radiance. But I was mistaken. People do not need us to fix them. They need us to witness them. They do not need our advice—they need our ears. They do not need our perspective—they need our eyes. They do not need our fears—they need our hearts. We cannot live anyone else’s life or walk anyone else’s path. We are only asked to remember how to walk our own. And sometimes, simply standing in our joy, our purpose, our passion, our gratitude… is not only enough— it is everything. So as I watch the sun set on one chapter of my life, I look forward knowing I am returning to an eternal light. And I look back with a soft, full heart—honoring a life well lived, a path well traveled, and a door always left open for more light to come in. JL Laale 'Lola'
