Is philosophy only meant for the elite and privileged? How can knowing what a person is help feed a billion mouths? Self-actualization sits at the top of the human needs pyramid in well-known theories. Kit Patrick illustrates how this widely held belief is not quite accurate. Currently a professor of philosophy at Azim Premji University, Bangalore, he was educated at Cambridge and Bristol universities in England and moved to India two years ago. His main research focuses on how scientists reason. He also has interests in economics, law and ethics. In his spare time, he runs the History of India podcast.
