Our topic today with Andrea Bailey is the presence of women artists in the art world, via the Association for Women Artists. Bailey is the Director of American Women Artists, an organization championing women artists for over 30 years. Her education in art history and business, combined with her experience in foundations, perfectly prepared her for this mission at AWA. Her valuable insight into the business side of the arts is sure to provoke great conversation. --- Guest Bio Andrea Bailey’s degrees are in art history and business. That, combined with years of work in foundations, perfectly prepared her mission as Director of American Women Artists. As Director, she champions the artistic endeavors of women from the administrative side: funding, museum shows, competitions, and numerous other endeavors which nourish opportunities for both the women artists and their audience. Previously, during seven years as Executive Director of the Aslan Foundation, Andrea led the Foundation’s grantmaking, public-private partnerships, and projects, including Loghaven Artist Residency, Eugenia Williams House, Candoro Marble Building, and High Ground Park. Her valuable insight into this side of the arts is sure to provoke great conversation.
