Today’s guest is Sivan (pronounced see-vohn) Perdue, ATR-BC, LCPAT (Art therapist registered-board certified, licensed clinical professional art therapist). Here’s some info on Sivan in her own words: “I’m Sivan, an art therapist and dementia strategist seeing clients in Maryland and Delaware in person and via telehealth. I love providing therapy for folks living with dementia and helping their care partners understand and navigate the strange landscape that caring for someone living with dementia throws you into.”   In today’s episode, Sivan discusses how she uses art therapy with older adults and caregivers. She talks about the challenges that older people, and therapists working with this population, face. Sivan also shares resources and tips that therapists can use to increase their knowledge of working with older adults, as well as helping other populations (kids, adults, etc) manage difficult conversations surrounding aging, mortality, and death.
