Something that is rather interesting is I noticed that MTA is still in the process of updating some announcements with several of the cars and most of the R160 cars and the R142/A cars got all their announcements updated and most of the R211 cars did as well. However, for some odd reason it seems as if the R179 and the open gangway cars are still working on fixing announcements. It didn’t matter anyway because all the signage in the stations have been completely updated. The city was bracing for more windchill later on in the evening. This winter surge that we have had in 2026 is one of the longest stretches in recent memory and don’t think that it’s gonna end anytime soon. Predictions state that we are likely to have an extended winter this year following Groundhog Day. As the windchill approached, and as I prepared for a first time run, I hope you guys enjoy this journey through Queens and Brooklyn.
