Previous cooking video: ”Pork Asado” • Pork Asado I How to cook Pork Asado Recipes Follow us on social media: Instagram: schannel21 Pinterest: / sarapchannel Twitter: / sarapchannel No Steamer Siopao Asado Recipe Siopao Dough Ingredients 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour 1 ½ tsp baking powder 1 ½ tbs sugar ½ cup water 1 ½ tsp cooking oil ½ cup water (for cooking siopao) SIOPAO FILLING ½ kilo pork menudo, lean cut 1 medium size onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 tbsp sugar 2 tbsp oyster sauce 2 tbsp soy sauce ½ tbsp. hoisin sauce ½ cup water 1 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/3 cup water 2 tbsp cooking oil SIOPAO SAUCE 1 pcs beef bouillon cubes 1 ½ cup water 1 pcs star anise 1 small onion, diced 1 cloves garlic, minced ½ tsp ground black pepper ½ tsp salt 2 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp soy sauce ½ tbsp. woscertershire sauce1 1 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in ¼ cup water Procedure 1. In a bowl combine flour, baking powder and sugar. Mix 2. Add water and mix. Gather the mixture using your hand. Add cooking oil and knead until it forms into a dough. Wrap in plastic and let it sit for 30 minutes. 3. SIOPAO FILLING. Heat oil in a pan and saute garlic and onion until limp and aromatic. Add pork and stir until the meat turns white. Add water and cook pork over medium heat until it becomes tender and water is reduced. Then add sugar, oyster sauce, soy sauce and hoisin sauce. Stir until well combined. Add cornstarch dilute in water. Stir until the sauce thickens. Transfer in a bowl and let it cool. 4. SIOPAO SAUCE. In a heated pan add water and beef bouillon cubes. Dissolve beef cubes and bring to a boil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, ground black pepper, salt, soy sauce, woscertershire sauce, sugar and star anise. Cover the pan and lower the heat, simmer for 8 minutes. Add cornstarch dissolved in water. Stir until the sauce thickens. Filter sauce using a strainer. Let it cool. 5. After 30 minutes knead in a floured surface until it’s smooth. Then roll dough into a log and cut into 6 equal pieces. 6. Flatten each dough with rolling pin. Place the filling into the center of the dough. Pull and pinch the edges of the dough to seal. 7. Heat cooking oil in a pan. Put siopao into the pan, cover and cook over medium heat for 1 minute. Then add water to the pan. Cover again and cook over medium-low heat until the water is gone. Add a bit of cooking oil and cook for 1 minute. Serve with siopao sauce.
