Zapata Falls Colorado we made it! And other camping tips and Tricks!

🚶‍♂️✨ We made it up to Zapata Falls, and it was cold but totally worth it! Just remember to wear the right shoes, or you'll slip and slide everywhere! 👟❄️ 🏞️ Zapata Falls is a stunning waterfall located in the San Luis Valley near the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. It's on Bureau of Land Management land adjacent to the Rio Grande National Forest and south of the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in Alamosa County, Colorado. The waterfall has an impressive 30-foot drop! 💧🌲 🏕️ There's also a camp on top of the mountain, but unfortunately, our 40-foot Montana is too big to make it up there. Such a shame, because the views from up there are absolutely breathtaking! 🌄😢 🎣 At the San Luis Lake fishing area, we spotted some unusual tents. It's a Colorado thing! And the best part? It's super affordable—just 27 bucks for the two of us for the whole season. You have to be a senior to get that price, though. 🏕️💸 Wildlife Fishing Licence required! 🐭 We've come up with a nifty idea to fill some holes in our rig with steel wool, and it's really helped cut down on the four-legged critters trying to get inside. 🚐🧵 🚽 Here at San Luis, someone put an air freshener in one of the vault toilets, and believe it or not, it made the whole experience much more pleasant! 🌸🚻 🌵 It's still July, but we plan to return to Arizona.
