The object of the game is to be the first player to collect four Green Apple cards by making the best comparisons. At the start of the first round, one player is the judge, and he or she deals five Red Apple cards face down to each player. Then the judge selects a Green Apple card from the top of the deck and chooses one of the words on the card to read aloud. All players (except the judge) choose the Red Apple card from their hand that they think is best described by the word on the Green Apple card. Those cards get placed facedown in front of the judge, and then the judge mixes up the cards, flips them over one by one, and chooses the card he or she thinks is best. If your card is chosen, you get to keep the Green Apple card. Move on to the next round with a new judge. Play continues until one player collects four Green Apple cards. Apples to Apples Party Box comes with 441 Red Apple cards, 63 Green Apple cards, and quick play rules. Three of the Red Apple cards and one Green Apple card are blank so that you can write your own words on them to personalize the game.
