Welcome to this silent, sacred space for cultivating mindfulness through the breath, drawn from the Buddha’s timeless teaching in the Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta. In this meditation, we gently return again and again to the simple act of breathing — knowing when we inhale, knowing when we exhale. There's no need to control, fix, or focus intently. The breath is not an object to conquer, but a companion to be known, moment by moment. As the Buddha taught, “Mindfully he breathes in, mindfully he breathes out. Breathing in long, he knows ‘I breathe in long’; breathing out long, he knows ‘I breathe out long’...” (MN 10). This awareness forms the first foundation of mindfulness — the body — and it opens the door to deeper calm and insight. Let each breath be a gentle anchor into presence.
