A riverbed is host to a wide variety of microscopic life. Six months ago I placed a bit of riverbed from a northern hemlock forest in a jar to create a sealed microbial ecosystem called a mesocosm. After six months in the mesocosm, that life is thriving and the ecosystem is maturing. Applying new techniques for processing microscopic footage, we will explore that life in a way you have never seen. The MICROSTORY channel explores the amazing and invisible realm everywhere around us. At the foundation of life and the root of the ecosystem, this invisible world, once revealed, is filled with alien wonder and striking beauty.
