It is a beautiful hike in one of the many "horseshoes" in the lake district. Unlike the Fairfield Horseshoe this is not a ridge walk aroung a valley. It has numerous ups and downs and has elevations totalling to 1300m over 15km. The Wainwrights covered in this walk are Grisedale Pike, Hopegill Head, Eel Crag (named on maps as Crag Hill), Sail, Outerside and Barrow. It was a challenging hike but very rewarding with a surprise waterfall in the middle of the walk.
