This is part 1 of a tutorial originally created for students studying in the Ocean & Naval Architectural Engineering discipline at Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Faculty of Engineering & Applied Science in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. The tutorial is primarily aimed at late intermediate and early-advanced Naval Architecture students looking to develop their familiarity with GHSPort’s popular, and powerful, General Hydrostatics software, colloquially known as GHS in industry. The objective of tutorial GHS 101 is to increase your understanding of the uses and method of applying the GHS software to aid in the design and development of Naval concept vessels or manuals of trim & stability (MT&S). Note: This series is not affiliated with any faculty or department at Memorial University of Newfoundland, nor is it affiliated with GHSPort or Creative Systems, Inc. By the end of tutorial GHS 101, you should be able to: Describe the purpose and use of GHS Identify typical applications Explain the lay-out and main command window Activate the help file to further independent learning For more information about the GHS software: https://www.ghsport.com To find a digital copy of GHS' standard software training manual: https://www.ghsport.com/support/Train...
