Brain Anatomy

The goal of this video is to help students understand the three dimensional relationships between structures in the brain. The content is focused to a 200/300 level Anatomy and Physiology course to introduce students to brain anatomy. It includes a glimpse of a term's list. There are four segments to the video, starting with a superficial view both lateral and superior to identify surface anatomy, then compares structures in a sagittal section followed with content of the brain stem. Last, inferior brain anatomy is considered. The models include a color model from a biological supply company and a less costly model purchased off Amazon. Labels are presented through out as the anatomy is discussed, and terms are used multiple times to help with retention of concepts. Some function is described, but the primary purpose of this video is to help identify structures in the brain and to help develop a spatial understanding of the brain.
