The ZeroPM science-policy webinar series will focus on a specific topic of regulatory importance according to the timeline EU Green Deal, with a focus on regulations related to persistent and mobile substances. For our second webinar, Andrè Bannink (Senior policy advisor at the association of river waterworks, RIWA, the Netherlands), Ulrich Borchers (Head of the IWW department Water Quality, Germany), and Tim aus der Beek (Head of the IWW department Water Resource Management, Germany) provide an overview of the occurrence of persistent and mobile substances in the aquatic environment, specifically focusing on #PFAS and #pharmaceuticals. Several policy options with their advantages and disadvantages will be addressed. Also presented will be methods and tools that can be used to protect drinking water sources.
