Marella Discovery Caribbean Cruise | Aruba De Palm Island | Day 5 Exotic Islands 2025

Hi everyone, In this week's Marella Discovery Exotic Islands Caribbean cruise series we arrive in beautiful #aruba! We had an excursion booked through #marellacruises this was the full day De Palm Island excursion. We had breakfast in the Islands buffet with a great view from the windows and Dane tried out the omelette station. It was then time to get off the ship to get the coach and ferry over to the Island. This was a private man made island and if we are honest we don't feel like we have experienced Aruba from this. The excursion started at 10am and lasted until about 5pm including transfers back. The sun loungers in the beach area were all gone by the time we arrived but we found a secluded area near the water slides with shade that ended up being perfect for us. All drinks (soft and alcoholic) and food at the grille or buffet were all included. We missed the lunch buffet but we did enjoy the grille. We had a walk around De Palm Island and saw the flamingos in two different areas, turtles, snorkelling area, water slides, food places and open bar. We also went down to the beach and went into the sea for a little while, it was very rocky so eater shoes are a must! Dane went snorkelling and also one one of the slides which he really enjoyed but still thinks the snorkelling at St Lucia was the best. There were quite a few upcharge sections and activities, we didn't opt in to any of these but some were available through Marella excursions such as Snuba and Sea Trek. When we returned to the ship we got ready really quickly as we wanted to do the 00s music quiz in the Squid and Anchor. This was a lot of fun and we almost won! So close haha after this we were going to eat at the Glass House but there was a long wait so we decided to eat at Islands for Mexican night instead. It was then time for the show in the Broadway Show Lounge, this time a guest performance from Brian Connolly Jr (son of The Sweet singer). He performed The Sweet's songs along with some other 70s classics. We really enjoyed this and thought he put on a great show! We then went to the silent disco in the atrium, this was amazing. A highlight of the cruise and we stayed from the start till the end. So many great songs and just great vibes along with brilliant entertainment staff Paige and Phil! Brilliant! After this we went to the late night comedy show with John Danbury, this was the adults only show. Again we liked this but did prefer his other act but a great show nonetheless! WWe then finished the night with some late night music and some orange pop in Bar Eleven before getting late night buffet in the Glass House. We absolutely loved this day, so much entertainment and we did enjoy our time at De Palm Island overall but we just don't think it was worth the money in our opinion.
