Join Hannah and Rachel Dare, owners of Organico health food shop, for a visit to Steve Collins of Derry Duff organic farm. As Steve shares with them, there’s a crisis of metabolic syndrome hitting Ireland and an urgent need for quality plant-based organic agriculture. Steve grows on what’s often thought of as ‘difficult land’. Despite this, he’s having great success with organic blueberries and aronia berries. They’re both thought of as ‘superberries’, but the incredibly high polyphenol content of aronia berries makes them even more powerful of a superfood. As you’ll see in the video, Steve believes there’s a need for a greater public health push and joined-up thinking to encourage people to become organic growers. Is Steve right? Are we failing to join the dots in Ireland when it comes to policy? Could our public health policy, our agricultural policy, and our environmental policy work together to encourage more people to grow organically? We want to know what you think… We’d love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments…
