Arshdeep Purba - Speaking Up Against Gender Inequality - Vision of Representation

Arshdeep is from the beautiful province of British Columbia. She was born in India and moved to Canada at a very young age with her family. There were many obstacles that led her to hide behind her insecurities. When Arshdeep started volunteering, she began to step out of her comfort zone and the biggest lesson she learned was that a healthy, positive mindset leads to success. Currently, Arshdeep is studying Biology at the University of British Columbia. She is very involved on campus as the Faculty of Science Representative on the UBC SUO Board of Directors. Arshdeep is a member of two SUO committees and the President of the UBCO Pre-Dental Society. She is also a member of the Alumni UBCO Student Legacy Project in which she is co-leading an initiative. Arshdeep is our 37th guest on Vision of Representation. "Vision of Representation" is a documentary series by student filmmaker, Stephanie Hubert. She has created this platform in order to tell people's stories. She believes that sharing stories helps others understand and become more informed, which allows for growth and less judgment.
