A major winter storm is forecast to hit much of the U.S. this weekend, with record-setting cold possible in some areas. Before it arrives, I wanted to put together another emergency shelter for feral cats that pass through our property. In this video, I build a simple lean-to style cat shelter using just two fence pickets and some scrap wood. The design has a single vertical wall with a roof set at about a 45-degree angle, extending all the way to the ground to help block wind, snow, and freezing rain. It’s quick, cheap, and meant to provide immediate protection during severe weather. Out here in the country, feral cats play an important role by helping control rodents and pests. When dangerous weather rolls in, we try to do what we can to help them survive it. This isn’t about perfection — it’s about doing something before the cold hits. #WinterStorm #FeralCats #EmergencyShelter #ExtremeCold #DIYCatShelter #AnimalCare #SevereWeather #CountryLife #NailedItByBen
