Most sales voicemails are awful. They’re too long too boring too salesy and they sound exactly the same. Hi this is John with XYZ Consulting we do sales training for Fortune 500s and I’d love to talk to you about your needs. Call me back at… You get the idea. That voicemail gets ignored every time. So here’s how I leave voicemails that actually get callbacks. I keep them under 30 seconds. I open with a reason for my call that’s based on relevance not a pitch. I use a line like I wanted to share how a client like you booked 25 meetings from one call blitz. That’s value. Then I ask them to call me back and leave my number. I say my name and company at the very end to force them to listen all the way through. This structure works because it respects their time builds curiosity and shows you’ve done your homework. You can’t sell on a voicemail but you can get a call back if you do it right.
