In this video I show you my first 24 hours exploring one of the least visited and most misunderstood cities in East Africa, Somalia. I arrive in Mogadishu with no guide, no fixer, and no security, just my camera and a local who wanted to show me his country. I take you step by step through what it’s like to travel solo in Somalia, from getting my Somalia visa on arrival, to exploring the city by tuktuk, eating authentic Somali food, and meeting locals along the way. I visit the massive Ali Jimale Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Mogadishu, and experience the energy of Bakaara Market, Somalia’s busiest and most chaotic marketplace. I try camel meat served with rice and banana, and drink Somali shaah (tea) made with camel milk, all while hearing stories from real people in the city. If you’ve ever wondered if Somalia is safe to visit, what Somali street food is actually like, or how locals treat foreigners. this video will give you a real look at life in Somalia currently. #somalia #mogadishu #SomaliaTravelVlog #WaleedTravels #PalestinianInSomalia #somalifood
