Rock N' Roll Show In Town - The Beach Buddies RARE 1965 (Unknown surf/doo-wop acetate) Tradewinds

Found this obscure cover of the Tradewinds' (think 'New York's A Lonely Town) B-Side. Interesting take by an unknown group. Back in the early '60's there was a surf/rock garage band from Canada called the Beach Buddies. They played local gigs here and there in hopes to someday be discovered by a label and make it 'big.' In the meantime, they listened to records by the Beach Boys, the Four Freshmen, the Hi-Lo's and the Crew-Cuts and worked on the tight vocal blend. Sadly, their career was halted by the British Invasion circa 1966. Unlike most other groups of the day, they refused to abandon their harmonies in favor of a harder, edgier sound. As a result, they're chances of 'making it' dwindled. This is the last song they recorded before they broke up - found on an an old acetate.
