Welcome to our Biology lecture series! In this video, we explain the C4 Pathway — a special photosynthetic adaptation found in plants that grow in hot and dry environments. C4 plants have a unique mechanism to reduce photorespiration and increase photosynthetic efficiency. In this pathway, carbon dioxide (CO₂) is first fixed into a 4-carbon compound using the enzyme PEP carboxylase in mesophyll cells. The carbon compound is then transported to bundle sheath cells, where the Calvin Cycle takes place. 🌱 Examples of C4 plants include maize, sugarcane, and sorghum. ✨ In this video, you will learn: What is the C4 pathway? Why C4 plants are more efficient in hot climates Role of PEP carboxylase Structure of Kranz anatomy Differences between C3 and C4 plants Advantages and importance of the C4 mechanism This lecture is perfect for FSc, Intermediate, MDCAT, and Biology students who want clear concept-based learning and exam preparation. 📚 Subscribe for more easy Biology lectures and detailed explanations! #C4Pathway #Photosynthesis #C4Plants #BiologyLecture #MDCATPreparation #PlantPhysiology #KranzAnatomy
