From Evidence to ROI: Measuring Returns on CGIAR Investments

Amidst global funding constraints, there is increased demand for evidence that ‪@cgiar‬ 's agricultural investments are generating returns. A new report from the CGIAR Standing Panel on Impact Assessment (SPIA) establishes a methodology for ROI estimations in the CGIAR context, focusing on four key innovation cases from across the CGIAR portfolio. In this video, SPIA Principal Scientist Ricardo Labarta gives an overview of the four innovations studied: Axial flow pumps in Bangladesh; Index-Based Livestock Insurance in Kenya and Ethiopia; Flood-tolerant rice varieties in Bangladesh; and Drought-tolerant maize in Ethiopia.
