Tredington is a pretty little village located 9 miles South of Stratford upon Avon and 2 miles North of Shipston on Stour. The civil parish of Tredington includes the village of Newbold on Stour and hamlets of Armscote, Blackwell and Darlingscott. The 2011 Census recorded the parish population as 1,422. Tredington civil parish was part of Worcestershire until 1931. The River Stour runs through Tredington which it is said is quick to rise and quick to fall. The village has been in existence for over 1,000 years and there are a number of historical records detailing the people, buildings and events connected with the village. The village has a large church, St Gregory’s, which has the tallest church spire in Warwickshire at 210 feet. As with most building of this age St Gregory’s Church has a rich history. The village has a pub, a primary school, a Village Hall run by the Women’s Institute and an 18th century water mill which is now a private dwelling. 'Leafy Warwickshire'
