The Gravel Experience | Social Ride with FIVE Cycle Run Cafe | Putrajaya - Gamuda Cove loop

We brought some new friends from FIVE Cycle Run Cafe to ride the Hippo Gravel Route, giving them a real taste of what gravel riding is all about. Quite a few of them have been curious about gravel for a while, so this was the perfect chance and we ended up with a pretty solid crowd. I was on sweeper and media duty for the ride, while also experimenting with shooting both video and photos at the same time, which was honestly quite a challenge. Respect to anyone who does both regularly. Our friends entered the gravel sections like total naturals and hit the gas right away. The route served up a good mix of surfaces from smooth hardpack to chunky rocks, bits of singletrack, and of course a visit to the hippos and crocs along the way. No group ride is complete without a little drama. We had a puncture or two, and some moments in between, but nothing the gang couldn’t overcome. In the end, everyone made it to the finish in one piece, which is always a win. Hope everyone enjoyed the ride, and until next time.
