When I first discovered how easy it was to make almond butter, I felt like my entire world changed. From then on, I felt so much more empowered in the kitchen. Could I guy a jar of almond butter if I wanted to? Sure! But I no longer HAD to. I now could make it myself if I wanted to. That felt amazing! Cut to me experimenting with different flavor profiles, and then eventually, with other nuts! The discovery of pecan butter was another marked moment in my cooking career, because unlike almond butter, it's not a butter you see on the shelves in your local grocery store (or at least, it didn't used to be). And my goodness, is it ever good! Anytime I make it for people (spoiler alert: this makes for a lovely birthday or house warming gift), they get addicted and call it crack butter. It couldn't be easier to make! Here is what you need: 3 cups of pecans 1/2 tsp cinnamon A pinch of sea salt 1. Bake the pecans in an even layer on a parchment paper lined baking sheet at 350F for 2-4 minutes (you do NOT want them to burn. You just want them to smell fragrant). 2. Place the nuts in the food processor along with the cinnamon and salt. Process until smooth, about 4-7 minutes, depending on your food processor (the thicker the blade, that faster it'll turn into butter). That's it, my friends! Store in the fridge and enjoy on toast, in smoothies, or just straight up on a spoon out of the jar! xoxo
