Join me on a meaningful walk through the city of Breda, visiting important historical and spiritual landmarks that commemorate freedom and peace. 🇵🇱 First, we visit the Polish Chapel on the corner of Wilhelminasingel and Lovensdijkstraat, built in 1954 as a gift from the city of Breda to the Polish community for their role in the liberation of Breda on October 29, 1944. The chapel features a stunning mosaic of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa, crafted with gemstones and gold leaf. 🕊️ Next, we stop at the powerful monument "Judith with the Head of Holofernes", unveiled in 1952. This striking sculpture by Niel Steenbergen symbolizes resistance, freedom, and the victory over oppression. Surrounding it are poetic texts by Karel Meeuwesse, reflecting the enduring spirit of liberation. ⛪ Along the way, I also pass the St. Anthony Cathedral, the Old City Hall, and take a walk around the beautiful Church of Our Lady (Grote Kerk) in Breda. This video honors the memory of those who fought for our freedom and highlights Breda's deep historical ties to the Polish liberators. 🎥 Don’t forget to subscribe for more historical journeys and tributes. 0:00 Intro 0:33 Polish Chapel – Wilhelminasingel 9:28 Shoe tree 10:41 On the way to Judith with the Head of Holofernes 12:03 St. Anthony Cathedral 14:14 Monument 'Judith with the Head of Holofernes' 18:14 Old Town Hall Breda 19:43 Grote Kerk Breda – Walk Around 26:52 Shoe tree #PolishHeroes #WWIITribute #LiberationOfBreda #HistoricalMonuments #BredaWalk #PoolseHelden #BevrijdingBreda #Oorlogsmonumenten #BredaGeschiedenis #WandelingBreda
