I've noticed that I get a high amount of "churn", gaining a large number of subscribers with one video, only to have a lot of them unsubscribe after another video. This often happens with videos that appeal to people with different political views, but it can sometimes happen when I publish videos on topics very different from ones I've published on recently. In this video I explain the philosophy behind my channel, and explain why the collection of topics found here is so eclectic or off-the-wall. I hope that by understanding how and why I publish on all these different topics, you may be convinced to bear with me even if I publish on topics you may find unrelated to what led you to subscribe in the first place, and I also hope that people can bear with me when I may share some new ideas that challenge your existing ways of thinking. I am not at all deterred by the high rate of unsubscriptions; I feel inspired to cover the diverse range of topics that I do, and to continue voicing perspectives that don't fit into a preconceived box or "echo chamber", and I hope that in the long-run I can inspire others to adopt a new way of thinking that both values the interconnectedness of all the different topics, and the importance of exposing yourself to new and different perspectives that you may not already fully agree with. Here is my "Financial Advice in a Hoodie" Series that I reference in the video: • Financial Advice in a Hoodie And my most recent two videos, the one about Social Justice Ideology: • The Hidden Classism in Left-Wing Social Ju... And the one about expiration dates on packaged foods: • Interpreting Expiration Dates on Packaged ...
