Do Join us for this week’s Bible Study, as we pause with the Scriptures appointed for the Baptism of the Lord, as Jesus steps into the water before his ministry begins. In Isaiah 43, we hear God speak to a people shaped by fear and displacement, naming them before demanding anything of them and reminding us that water and fire are not the end of the story. Psalm 29 invites us to listen for the voice of God moving over chaotic waters—strong enough to shake the world, yet ending in peace. In Acts 8, we encounter a Spirit who arrives on no predictable timetable, reminding us that belonging is not earned through perfect sequence or spiritual performance. And in Luke 3, we linger with Jesus himself—baptized among the people, praying, and hearing a word spoken over him before he teaches, heals, or acts. Together, these texts invite us to slow down, to stand near the waters of this moment, and to consider what it means to be named, claimed, and grounded before the road ahead unfolds. You’re invited to join us for Bible Study, and to prepare at your own pace by visiting our website’s Bible Study page to access the self-guided Bible Study Companion Guide.
