Other than ultras, the half marathon is my favourite race. It's far enough that it's a challenge and you can get into a decent stride yet it's not too far that it risks becoming a brutal slog (particularly if it's not your day). Due to injury and focusing mainly on ultras, I hadn't done a half marathon since February 2022. Keen to mix things up, I headed down to Folkestone on the coast of Kent to take part in the annual Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon.
